Inscription  In memory of Major Francis de Berckem HANCOCK, Bombay Political Department son of Colonel G Edward HANCOCK late Indian Army born 21 Feb 1870 died at Aden 6 May 1916 while on his way home. Erected by his brother officers as a mark of their affectionate regard. A counsellor, a good man and just.
